Cantaloupe Margarita Cocktail
On this blog you will find my “Sopa de Melón Fría” recipe which I recently served for a dinner party and from the left-over cantaloupe soup I added some tequila and ice and Voilà. Thought I created an original recipe; not the case. None the less I felt compelled to share my story and recipe with you. Eliminate the tequila if you like and have an innovative summer drink.
The traditional margarita cocktail includes orange flavored liqueurs such as cointreau, triple-sec and others. In my recipe, I substitute simple-syrup to maximize the cantaloupe flavor. Try it, you’ll love it. Let’s get started.
Ingredients
Base
Makes 4 cups juice
2 ½ lbs cantaloupe melon
2 limes for juice and zest for one of the two
⅓ cup simple syrup (see note)
½ cup water
Margarita cocktail
